I am not a registered trader and hold no F-tax certificate. Assignments are therefore invoiced through Frilans Finans under an egenanställning arrangement. They employ me for the assignment, issue the invoice, and account for VAT, tax and employer contributions. You receive an ordinary invoice from a Swedish company, so the question of whether you as the client would have to withhold tax or pay employer contributions does not arise.

Payment terms: once the written scope and fixed price are approved, 50% is invoiced to reserve the project and begin the concept work. The remaining 50% is invoiced before launch and handover. Ongoing care after launch is a separate arrangement and is not part of the project price.

2. Clients outside the EU, the United States included

I take assignments from companies outside the EU on the same terms as Swedish ones. This section sets out how the arrangement works formally, because it is the first question a US finance department tends to ask.

Who you are contracting with

Your counterparty is Frilans Finans Sverige AB, a Swedish limited company, not me as an individual. They employ me for the assignment, issue the invoice and carry the employer obligations. You are buying a service from a company.

This is why worker classification never becomes an issue. You are not engaging an individual contractor, so there is nothing to test against the IRS factors or a state ABC test, and no W-9 or I-9 to collect.

US withholding and information returns

The work is performed in Sweden by a person who is not a US taxpayer. Compensation for services performed outside the United States is generally foreign-source income under IRC §§ 861 to 862, so neither the 30% Chapter 3 withholding nor Form 1042-S normally comes into play.

Form 1099-NEC covers payments to US persons and does not apply to an invoice from a Swedish company. If you need documentation for your files, Frilans Finans provides a W-8BEN-E on request. Ask for it before the first invoice and it never becomes a loose end.

VAT

On services sold to a company established outside the EU the place of supply follows the customer, and the invoice is issued without Swedish VAT. This differs from Swedish assignments, where VAT is added. Whether your own state levies sales or use tax on the service is a matter for you, not for me.

Payment, currency and governing law

The payment terms are the same as for Swedish clients: once the written scope and fixed price are approved, 50% is invoiced to reserve the project and begin the concept work, and the remaining 50% before launch and handover. The invoice is issued in Swedish kronor unless another currency is agreed in advance. Swedish law applies and disputes go before a Swedish court, unless agreed otherwise in writing.

This is a description of how I work, not tax advice. The rules are summarised as they normally apply and your situation may differ. Check with your own adviser before booking anything, and feel free to ask me for the documentation above directly.

3. Personal data

This site has no forms, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. Simply reading it does not hand over any personal data to me.

If you email me, I process your address and whatever you write, in order to answer you and to discuss possible work. The legal basis is steps taken at your request prior to a contract, and my legitimate interest in replying (GDPR Art. 6.1 b and f).

How long: I keep the correspondence while the matter is live and then for twelve months from our last contact, after which it is deleted. If you would like it deleted sooner, just say so.

If you book a call, the booking is handled by Cal.com, which receives the name, email address and time you enter. That happens on their site, under their terms, and only after you follow the link.

Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc.), which records ordinary technical connection data such as IP address, browser and time in order to serve and protect the site. Cloudflare acts as a processor under its data processing addendum, and transfers outside the EU/EEA are covered by the standard contractual clauses in that addendum.

4. Cookies and browser storage

This site sets no cookies and writes nothing to localStorage or sessionStorage.

The language is decided by the address: Swedish lives at / and English at /en/. There is no language preference to remember.

The question panel opens only when you press it. Time on the page, scroll depth and the answers you choose exist only in the page’s temporary memory and disappear when you leave. They are sent nowhere and are not stored. The same goes for the question at the foot of the pages.

The one exception is the AI assistant: if you start it, ElevenLabs may store values of its own. That is described in section 5.

5. The AI assistant, Alex

Alex is an AI, not a person. He says so in his first sentence, and confirms it plainly if you ask.

None of the assistant loads when you open the page. Only when you press Start the assistant is the code fetched and a connection opened. That press is your consent, and it is also the legal basis (GDPR Art. 6.1 a). If you do not press it, nothing happens.

Who processes what. The assistant is run by ElevenLabs, Inc. in the US, and the language model behind the answers is Google Gemini. What is processed is whatever you say or type, a voice recording if you speak, and anything you choose to give, such as your name, email address and which firm you are from.

How long. Conversations and recordings are kept for twelve months and then deleted. If you want that done sooner, just email me.

What the assistant does not do. It makes no decisions about you, does not profile you, and cannot enter into agreements. It answers questions and notes a time. Price, contract and scope are mine to decide.

If you would rather not. Email hello@matviiakkuratov.com or book a time directly. Then no AI is involved and no data leaves this domain.

Once the assistant has started, ElevenLabs may store values of its own in your browser to hold the conversation together. That is outside my control and is described in their own policy.

6. Third parties

Fonts are served from this domain, not from a font CDN. There is no analytics, no tag manager, no tracking pixel and no embedded social media. Loading a page on this site does not disclose your IP address to any third party.

There are two exceptions, and both require you to act. Starting the AI assistant fetches it from ElevenLabs, as described in section 5. Following a link onward to Cal.com, LinkedIn or one of the concept sites means the other party’s own policy applies from there. Data leaves the page only when you choose to make it.

7. Your rights

You may request access to the data I hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to or restrict the processing, and ask for a copy in a portable format (GDPR Art. 15–21). Email me and I will deal with it.

If you are unhappy with how I handle it, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, imy.se.

8. The design concepts

The two concepts shown here, for Företagarnas Revisionsbyrå i Uppsala AB (FB Revision) and Nordström Advokater AB, are self-initiated proposals. Neither firm ordered them, paid for them, reviewed them or approved them, and nothing here should be read as a client relationship, a recommendation or an endorsement.

Company names, trade names and any text quoted from the firms’ own pages remain the property of the respective company, and appear here only to present the proposals. The concept sites themselves are marked as concepts and excluded from search engines, so that nobody looking for the actual firm ends up in a design study.

If either firm would prefer their concept not to be shown, email me and I will take it down. No discussion needed.
